Accessport Auto On/Off
How To Enable:
Our V3 Accessports with qualifying firmware offer an Auto On/Off feature. This feature, when enabled, allows the Accessport to power on when the vehicle is detected to be running and
shut down once the engine has been turned off.
Auto On
The Auto ON feature requires a calibration to correctly sense when the vehicle has turned on. It should calibrate automatically the first time the user enables Auto ON/OFF, but if the AP turns on when it shouldn't or doesn't turn on when it should, it may need to be recalibrated. In limited scenarios, it is possible that the AP will be unable to calibrate itself and a calibration will need to be specified manually. If this is the case, the user will need to enable a user-defined calibration in the Calibration Source menu and then input a sensitivity value between 80 and 120. The higher this number, the more sensitive the ON detection is.
The calibration does not apply to Auto OFF; it only applies to Auto ON.
Setting up Auto On
On the main Accessport page, Scroll up until you see Setup and click the middle button.
From the list of options, choose Auto On/Off Settings.
From the list of options, choose Auto On/Off Settings.
Then select Set Detection Level.
Enable Auto On/Off – This will enable the Auto On/Off feature.
Enable Low Battery Shutdown – This will shut the Accessport down if battery voltage drops below 10v
Once you’re done hit the back button (left) to save the changes.
Adjustments and Settings
View Current Auto On-Off Settings
This option shows you what you currently have set up. It is not adjustable from this menu.
Calibration Source Menu:
Learned Calibration (Default) - This allows the Accessport to automatically calibrate engine-on detection. Selecting this value when the Accessport is set to a user-defined calibration will begin a new calibration and overwrite the user-defined value.
User-Defined Calibration - This allows the user to specify a calibration value instead of letting the Accessport learn on its own. This enables "Set User-Defined Auto-ON Calibration" in the main Auto ON/OFF menu.
Set User-Defined Auto-ON Calibration
(Disabled by default, must be enabled in Calibration Source menu)
Lowering the value here will make the ON detection less sensitive. Lower the value if the AP turns on when it shouldn't.
Raising the value here will make the ON detection more sensitive. Raise the value if the AP doesn't turn on when it should.
Reset Auto-ON Calibration:
This will reset Auto-ON settings, resulting in:
Calibration Source: Learned
Calibration value overwritten and new calibration started
Auto ON/OFF enabled
Available Adjustments and How to Make them:
A green bubble to the left of the option shows that it is Active, a grey bubble indicates it is inactive.
Auto-ON calibration source: Learned (Default) or User-Defined
Auto-ON calibration value: Higher means more sensitive and more likely to assume the vehicle has been turned on; lower is the opposite.
When And Why To Adjust:
If you'd like your Accessport to turn on and off when the ignition is turned off.
If the Accessport is not turning on when it is supposed to or it is turning on when it is not supposed to, raise and lower the calibration value respectively.
A new calibration may be required after installing aftermarket parts that interfere with the electrical system of the vehicle.
Things To Look Out For:
**Please keep in mind if you have any aftermarket electronics installed on the vehicle that may interfere with the ignition(ex. turbo timer, remote starter, etc..) you may run into issues using this feature.**
