COBB Custom ECU Features

Not available on all model years at this time.  Check each item below for vehicle compatibility.






Required Accessport Firmware:

  • V3: 1.7.4.2-21144 or greater



Fuel Requirements: 
Each map lists the minimum required octane. A higher octane fuel can be used safely on a map designed for lower octane. DO NOT use maps designed for higher octane with lower octane fuels. Top Tier gasoline should be used where available.

  • Maps designated with "87" are for use with 87 and 89 octane fuel or better.

  • Maps designated with "91" are for use with 91 and 92 octane fuel or better.

  • Maps designated with "93" are for use with 93 and 94 octane fuel or better.

 

  • Maps designated with "95" are for use with 95 RON fuel or better.

  • Maps designated with "98" are for use with 98 RON fuel or better.

In order to keep the cooling system working efficiently in the most diverse array of conditions, the temperature threshold for fan operation has been lowered so that they come on sooner.  This can also mean that the fans will continue running after your car is shut down.  This is normal expected behavior.






 

Stage1

  • Intake Requirements: Stock airbox with stock / COBB air filter 7M1101 or COBB intake system 7M1100

  • Exhaust requirement: Stock exhaust, or COBB Cat-Back Exhaust 5M2150

  • Boost Level:

    • 91 OCT or 95 RON Minimum Up to ~23.0psi tapering to ~19.5psi by redline. (+/- 3psi).

    • 93 OCT or 98 RON Minimum Up to ~23.0psi tapering to ~19.5psi by redline. (+/- 3psi).

 

Stage2

  • Intake Requirement: Stock airbox with stock / COBB air filter 7M1101 or COBB intake system 7M1100

  • Intercooler Requirement: COBB front mount intercooler system 7M1500

  • Exhaust requirement: COBB Cat-Back Exhaust 5M2150

  • Boost Level:

    • 91 OCT or 95 RON Minimum Up to ~24.5psi tapering to ~20.5psi by redline. (+/- 3psi).

    • 93 OCT or 98 RON Minimum Up to ~24.5psi tapering to ~20.5psi by redline. (+/- 3psi).

The above Stage1, Stage2 calibration(s) is legal for use on Emissions Controlled Vehicles in all 50 states when used in accordance with the manufacturer's application guide because it and the parts have a California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order (EO) number: 

 


Non-Performance Maps

  • Stage0

    • Stock style map that allows datalogging

  • Anti-Theft Mode

    • Will not allow vehicle to run

  • Valet Mode

    • Fuel Requirements: 87+ Octane (RON+MON/2) (89+ RON) fuel minimum

    • Intake / Exhaust Requirements: Any

    • Boost: Stock Settings

    • Rev Limiter: 3100 RPM

    • Speed Limiter: 35mph (56.3 kph)


Closing Warnings and Precautions:

  • Use of inappropriate calibration/modification combinations will promote engine damage.

  • Seek the help of a professional COBB Accesstuner Professional should your vehicle fall outside of OTS configurations.

  • COBB OTS mapping is NOT designed to be used with upgraded aftermarket boost actuators or solenoids. Doing so may result in much higher than desired boost and potential engine damage. Seek the help of a COBB Accesstuner Professional should your vehicle fall outside of OTS configurations.

  • Top Tier gasoline should be used where available. Use of lower quality fuels can result in catastrophic engine damage.

Original Release Calibration

  • Adjusted fuel, ignition timing, boost control (including overboost), camshaft phasing (Ti-VCT), throttle ramping, cooling fans, and base programming logic. Adjusted compensations for more consistent power delivery. Adjusted torque, gear, load, boost, airflow, temperature, speed, and rev limits. All changes to the OEM strategies are designed for overall efficiency and consistency.
