Surging MAF Readings
Applicable Vehicles:
- Mitsubushi Evo X (all trim levels)
- 2008-2015
Surging idle and odd drivability can be caused by having an intake that is not shielded from the cooling fan air. This turbulent air and cause bouncy MAF readings which will throw off fueling and load calculations. If you're running into odd surging issues the easiest way to see if this is an issue is to check and see if the idle issue occurs most often when the fans are coming on.
