Congratulations on your purchase of the COBB Tuning EVO VIII/IX SF Intake! The following instructions will assist you through the installation process. Please read them BEFORE beginning the install to familiarize yourself with the steps and tools needed. If you feel you cannot properly perform this installation, we HIGHLY recommend you take the vehicle to a qualified and experienced automotive technician.
IMPORTANT! Installing this kit will require custom tuning or utilizing an appropriate Stage Power Package map if you have a matching mechanical configuration. Please consult with COBB or an authorized ProTuner in your area if you have any questions!

3/8" ratchet

- M3 Allen Key

Deadblow Hammer
- Trim removal tool
Stock Intake Removal
- Using a 10mm wrench, unhook the battery's negative terminal.
- Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the 2 plastic fasteners that connect the intake scoop to the lip of the engine bay and remove the scoop.
- Remove the 2 bolts that hold down the intake box with a 10mm socket.
- Using a 10mm socket and an extension, loosen the hose clamp attaching the accordian style rubber hose to the MAF sensor housing.
- Pull up on the intake box and disconnect the MAF connection from the MAF sensor in order to remove the intake box.
- To remove the intake bracket, use a 10mm socket and take off the 3 bolts holding it to the frame rail. Then use a 12mm socket in order to remove the bolt connecting the bracket to the intercooler piping.
- Remove the MAF sensor from the intake box using a 10mm socket in order to loosen up the four nuts. When removing the sensor make sure the rubber gasket stays on the sensor and not in the intake. The studs, nuts and sensor will all be re-used with the COBB SF Intake so put them in a safe place.
Installation of COBB Tuning SF Intake
- To install the mounting bracket, re-use the three 10mm bolts from the factory intake that screws to the frame rail.
- Insert the four studs removed from the stock intake into the COBB MAF housing.
- Slide the MAF sensor into the COBB MAF housing. Attach using the four stock nuts and a 10mm socket
- Insert the MAF sensor into the accordion style rubber hose. Secure the hose clamp using a 10mm socket.
- Secure the COBB MAF housing to the mounting bracket using the supplied bolts, flat washers and lock washers in this order.
Bolt Head, lock washer, flat washer, mounting bracket, and then MAF housing. Then tighten using 10mm socket. - Finally install the provided air filter using an 8mm socket to tighten the hose clamp.
- Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Go out and enjoy!
