Stock Intake Removal
Park your car in a flat, level area and allow it to cool down all the way.
Remove the two clips holding the stock snorkel in place. The center portion can be pried/lifted out with a screwdriver or trim tool, allowing the rest of the clip to release and come out easily.
Â
Â
With the two clips removed pull the stock snorkel out and store it somewhere safe. Or throw it away. Up to you.
Remove the nut holding the rubber bumper to the bracket on the radiator support using a 10mm wrench.
Â
Undo the hose clamp holding the intake tube on to the airbox and pull the intake tube free.
Unplug the maf sensor by pushing down on the clip on the end.
Â
Using your extension and 10mm socket, remove the two bolts further down holding the airbox to the frame.
With the bolts holding the airbox in place removed, go ahead and remove it from the car.
Pop the two clips open on the top of the airbox, then open it slightly at the top and slip the two halves apart at the hinges.
Â
Â
Choose one of the side bushings and push the metal insert out.
Squeeze the bushing and remove it from the bracket.
Â
Â
Â
Intake Duct Assembly
Install the supplied rubber isolator into the top corner of the duct using a fender washer, locking washer and the m6 nut.
Install the bushing you removed from the stock intake into the tab on the new airbox lid portion.
Â
Reinstall the stock rubber bushing’s metal insert into the bushing.
Â
install the two supplied grommets to the corners of the snorkle’s inlet.
Â
Â
Â
Install the air filter into the airbox lid. Either reusing the original or replacing with new.
Pop the tabs at the bottom of the intake box into the loops in scoop and fold the two halves together.
Secure the two halves with the clips on the top. If using an aftermarket filter you may notice you need to squeeze things together a litle bit as the filter squiches to seal properly, just make sure everything is lined up.
Â
Â
Locate the two stock holes you removed the snorkel from.
Â
Using one of the m6 allen bolts and a lock washer, install one of the supplied pins through each of the two holes you removed the stock snorkel clip holes from.
Â
Â
Drop the new intake airbox assembly into place, lining up the rubber isolator on the airbox with the bracket behind the headlight.
Loosely secure the rubber isolator with the stock nut.
Â
Â
Loosely install the lower bolt securing the airbox to the frame
Pop the airbox snorkle into the pins you installed on the radiator support
Â
Â
With all the points attached, you can now tighten down the nut and bolt for the airbox using your 10mm.
You’re all done! Go out and enjoy!
