F-150 2.7, 3.5 EcoBoost TCM Map Notes
Supported Vehicles:
- USDM 2017-2020 3.5L EcoBoost F-150
- USDM 2018-2020 2.7L EcoBoost F-150
Starting in 2020, the 3.5L EcoBoost F-150 combines the ECU and TCM into one unit, as such you'll flash one map that covers both the transmission and engine maps at the same time. For 3.5L EcoBoost F-150s from 2017 - 2019 you'll manually select the map for the ECU and TCM individually as they are flashing separate units, if the Accessport has transmission tuning enabled.
All 2.7L EcoBoost F-150s use a combined module for engine and transmission control.

TCM Tuning Activation:
- If you did not initially purchase your Accessport with TCM support, please contact the COBB Tuning customer service team via phone or email to activate this feature.
Towing
COBB's performance transmission maps have focused 'Normal' and 'Sport' drive modes for performance driving and have not been optimized for towing. Always switch the vehicle's drive mode to 'Tow' mode when hauling a trailer.

Map Notes:
Simulated Stock: this is a stock transmission calibration.
COBB OEM+: this map is intended to be a sporty but refined improvement on the stock transmission behavior.
- Shift Points: skip-shifting in ‘Normal’ drive mode has been maintained; moderately increased shift points for sportier acceleration; more responsive downshift schedules; more anticipatory coastdown (off-power) shift schedules.
- Shift Firmness: moderately increased shift firmness during high-power, high-RPM shifts in ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’ drive modes.
- Upshift Backout: upshift inhibit (zero APP gear-holding) in ‘Sport’ mode following high-power acceleration and throttle backout has been disabled. Stock behavior would inhibit upshift until pedal position is re-applied above ~10%.
- Torque Limits: increased torque limits for more aggressive launches and acceleration.
COBB Sport: this map is intended to be a performance-first improvement on the stock transmission behavior.
- Shift Points: skip-shifting in ‘Normal’ mode has been eliminated, except for light throttle 1-3 shifts for comfort; increased shift points for livelier acceleration; more responsive downshift schedules; more anticipatory coastdown (off-power) shift schedules.
- Shift Firmness: increased shift firmness during moderate to high-power shifts in ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’ drive modes.
- Upshift Backout: upshift inhibit (zero APP gear-holding) in ‘Sport’ mode following high-power acceleration and throttle backout has been disabled. Stock behavior would inhibit upshift until pedal position is re-applied above ~10%.
- Torque Limits: increased torque limits for more aggressive launches and acceleration.
Upshift Schedule Graphs:
The factory ECU uses transmission Output Shaft Speed (OSS) for shift schedule tables, along with Accelerator Pedal Position (APP). One graph will plot this data (APP vs. OSS), and the other will show APP vs. Vehicle Speed (which assumes stock tire size and diff. gearing). Note - plots showing vehicle speed may not align with the shifting behavior of your truck due to differences in factory available final drive ratios.
Simulated Stock: Normal Drive Mode
COBB OEM+: Normal Drive Mode
COBB Sport: Normal Drive Mode
Closing Warnings and Precautions:
- Tuning is not a replacement for maintenance. Make sure to follow recommended service procedure intervals.
