Â
Â
Splash Shield Removal
Start by parking your car in a flat level area. You’ll need to be able to work both under and above the car at times.
Jack your car up and safely support it, or use a lift if you’re a baller.
Using your trim tool remove the 5 trim clips across the front of the splash guard. This is done by pulling out the center until it stops, then popping the outside body out of the plastic shield.
Â
Â
Remove the two 12mm bolts at the front.
Â
in front of each wheel, remove the trim clip near the tow hook, then the two on the wheel side, the top one is about halfway up the wheel well.
Â
Â
Â
Â
Remove the two small plastic clips from the splash guard that goes to the metal skid plate on each side as well as two in the front.
Â
Â
Â
The splashguard should now drop out.
Â
Bumper Removal
Remove the 4 trim clips that you pull the center out of, holding the top bumper support on to the radiator support.
Using a small screwdriver or pick, there are two trim clips in each corner where you’ll gently push down on the center to release the clips.
Undo the 6 bolts across the top of the bumper to finish freeing the top of the bumper.
Move down to the wheel wells and remove the 2 push style trim clips on each side.
Undo the trim clips holding the bumper to the wheel liners and start to slide the bumper out.
Press in the release tabs to remove the foglight connectors on each side of the bumper.
Set your bumper somewhere safe.
Return to the front end and remove the trim clips holding the upper radiator cover in place
Â
Remove the four 10mm bolts and two trim clips that hold the upper bumper bracket on the core support. While optional, it’s a bit of a pain to test fit and take the scoop in and out a few times with this in place, so it’s strongly recommended to take the 2 minutes to just remove this.
Â
Scoop Assembly and Installation
Using the supplied m6 allen bolts, attach the two pins to the outside of the support bracket.
Using the two larger bolts and provided nut, loosely bolt it into place on the core support. The holes are slightly slotted to allw you to move it around a bit to line the scoop up.
Install the two grommets into the holes on the back of the scoop, these will attach to the bracket to hold it in place.
The top of the factory air guide can be trimmed to fit around the new scoop (or thrown away I guess? But it does help with cooling). Below is a view of the recommended cuts, though you may be able to cut less if you so desire. The red square needs to be fully cut out to allow the scoop to go through the guide. The yellow lines are where you’ll just cut through the raised portion sticking out perpindicular. The white lines show you can remove the front floppy part to allow the scoop to pass through, or leave it in place and just stick the scoop through it. As usual, cut less than you think you may need to and test fit a few times if you want to remove the minimum.
Once you’re happy with the fitment, you can go ahead and tighten down the bracket and install the scoop for the last time with the trim clip.
Reinstall the metal support bracket on the outside, this has a little adjustment to keep it slightly away from the scoop, but it’s fairly tight so it will likely touch it in a few areas.
Reinstall the upper radiator cover.
You can now reinstall the bumper.
You’re all done! Go out and enjoy
