Congratulations on your purchase of the COBB Tuning Bronco Intake! The following instructions will assist you through the installation process. Please read them BEFORE beginning the install to familiarize yourself with the steps and tools needed. If you feel you cannot properly perform this installation, we HIGHLY recommend you take the vehicle to a qualified and experienced automotive technician.

Tools Needed

Sockets

3/8"

• 3/8" ratchet

• 3/8" 6" extension

• 3/8" 8mm socket

Hand Tools

• Flathead screwdriver

• Trim removal tool

Stock Airbox Removal

1. Park your car in a flat, level area and allow it to cool down.
   
   

2. If you have an Everglades model skip to step 4.
   Remove the trim clip holding the front inlet scoop to the radiator support
   
   

   
   
   

3. Now use your trim tool to gently ease the opening of the scoop over the tabs on the intake, and pull the scoop off of the airbox.
   
   

    

   
   
   

4. Using your 8mm socket, remove the 4 bolts holding the airbox lid in place.
   
   

    

   
   
   

5. With the screws removed (And not dropped down into the depths of your engine bay) lift up on the intake lid. If you have an Everglades model wiggle the lid out of the coupler holding it to the snorkel (There shouldn’t be a hose clamp in place from the factory)
   
   

    

    

    

   
   
   

6. Pull upwards on the filter to remove it from the airbox.
   
   

COBB Intake Assembly

1. This step is optional for regular models, there is no point doing it for evegrlade models: (recommended if you live in a very dusty or wet area) Using the three supplied bolts, install the diverter plate, this prevents any water or debris from going straight into the filter. The ridges seen at each end will hit the backside of the plate so it’s fairly constrained between those ridges, and the “fence”-like area on the bottom of the scoop.
   
   

    

    

2. Peel the larger supplied gasket off of the sheet and apply it to the bottom of the airbox. Usually I carefully peel a corner off and follow it around as the curves can be a little tricky.
   
   

    

   
   
   

3. Apply the smaller gasket to the window area on the top of the airbox.
   
   

    

   
   
   

4. Next you can install either the clear or aluminum panel in this area. The clear plastic one will seal the airbox more forcing the air to come in from the front snorkel area. The open aluminum one will give you more engine noise.
   
   

    

   1. If you do go with the plastic one make sure to remove the wrapping from it first!
      
      
      

      
      
      

5. Secure it with the 12 supplied bolts using the supplied allen key. Get them all started before tightening them down. They don’t need to be too tight, and overtightening may break the plastic.
   
   

   
   
   
   

   
   
   

Intake Installation

1. Install the COBB Air filter over the stock piece. To do so slip the opening of the filter over the beginning of the intake tube that sticks out into the airbox, then push gently down on the end of the filter. You may need to wet or lubricate the top of the filter, it’s a bit of a tight fit, as only this tension actually keeps the filter in place. In some cases you can kind’ve “shoehorn” it into place with a smooth plastic implement
   
   
   

   
   
   

2. With the filter on you can bolt the COBB airbox lid on using the factory screws and your 8mm tool.
   
   
   

   
   

3. For non-everglade vehicles you can snap the factory snorkel/scoop back on and clip it back to the radiator support using the factory trim clip.
   
   

    

   
   
   

4. You’re all done! Go out and enjoy!

CARB Sticker Application

(Where Applicable)

1. Apply the supplied CARB sticker in a clear, easy to find location.  Typically underhood, or on the radiator core support.
