Congratulations on your purchase of the COBB Tuning VB WRX Alternator Cover! The following instructions will assist you through the installation process. Please read them BEFORE beginning the install to familiarize yourself with the steps and tools needed. If you feel you cannot properly perform this installation, we HIGHLY recommend you take the vehicle to a qualified and experienced automotive technician.

Open

Mounting Bracket

(2) M6 x 1.0 x 12mm Stainless Allen head Bolt

(2) COBB Nylon Washers

(2) M6 Stainless Fender Washer

Tools Needed

Sockets

3/8"

• 3/8" ratchet

• 3/8" 10mm socket

Wrenches

• 10mm combination wrench
  
  

Stock Alternator Cover Removal

1. Start by parking your car in a flat level area where you’ll be safe from angry pigeons.
   
   

2. Using your 10mm, remove the bolt on the left side (passenger’s side USDM) from the alternator.
   
   

   
   
   

3. The other side has a rubber grommet, pull straight upwards to remove the cover.
   
   
   

   
   
   

   
   
   
   

4. Squeeze the grommet a little bit and slight it out the split opening to remove.
   
   
   

   
   
   

    

Cover Installation

1. Place one of the smaller size washers onto one of the hex headed bolts. Place it through the shorter side of the bracket without the threaded insert, then place one large washer on the opposite side along with the lock nut.
   
   
   

    

   
   
   

2. Slide this through the opening in the bracket you pulled the grommet out of.
   
   
   

   
   
   

3. Slip the remaining small washer on the hex bolt and attach the other end of the bracket to the mounting tab on the alternator.
   
   
   

   
   
   

4. The bracket can now be tightened down.
   
   
   

5. Set the cover on top of the bracket and attach it using the provided plastic washers and allen bolts
   
   
   

   
   
   

   
   
   

6. You’re all done! Go out and enjoy
   
   
   

CARB Sticker Application

(Where Applicable)

1. Apply the supplied CARB sticker in a clear, easy to find location.  Typically underhood, or on the radiator core support.
