Vehicle Coverage

Congratulations on your purchase of the COBB Tuning FK8 Civic Shift Knob! The following instructions will assist you through the installation process. Please read them BEFORE beginning the install to familiarize yourself with the steps and tools needed. If you feel you cannot properly perform this installation, we HIGHLY recommend you take the vehicle to a qualified and experienced automotive technician.

Tools Needed

Wrenches

  • 14mm combination wrench

Stock Knob Removal

  1. These instructions work for both the round and oblong knobs.

  2. Using your hands (or a trim tool) carefully press down on the trim ring of the knob to detach the ring on the shift boot from the knob. On some cars we’ve found this to be incredibly tight from the factory.

  3. Using a 14mm wrench turn the lower collar (black metal piece) clockwise slightly to loosen it from the knob.

  4. The knob and the black collar can now be removed by spinning them counter-clockwise

Knob Pre-Assembly

  1. Apply a small amount of the supplied grease to the o-ring, then install it onto the groove in the knob.

  2. You can now slide the colored ring of your choice onto the knob


Knob Installation

  1. Spin the knob onto the shifter shaft clockwise until relatively tight. Then pull the shift boot collar up until it snaps into place on the lower portion of the shift knob.

  2. You’re all done! Go out and enjoy!


CARB Sticker Application

(Where Applicable)

  1. Apply the supplied CARB sticker in a clear, easy to find location.  Typically underhood, or on the radiator core support.
