Tech Bulletin – Unexpected Ignition Timing Correction (2.5L Turbo Subaru)

Date: 1/15/21

Vehicles affected:

  • 2.5L Turbo Subarus that support the Ignition Timing Compensation (Intake Temp) B table.

A new table has been exposed in the Accesstuner Pro software (version x.x.x+xxxxx.xxxxx or later) to address an issue where an unexpected timing correction can occur:

  • Ignition Timing Compensation (Intake Temp) B Initial Value

This positive correction can be applied for a brief period just before the Ignition Timing Compensation (Intake Temp) B table becomes active. This can occur even if the Ignition Timing Compensation (Intake Temp) B table is set to zero. For further details, please see the new table’s help description in Accesstuner Pro.

Additionally, it is important to note that the Ignition Timing Compensation (Intake Temp) A and Ignition Timing Compensation (Intake Temp) B table logic operate completely independently from one another. Both can be active at the same time.

If you have any feedback, questions, or concerns please let our Subaru Expert Group know.
