Tables and Descriptions
Activation Threshold (APP)
This table controls the minimum Accelerator pedal position required when attempting to activate the COBB Transbrake feature.
Units
Acceptable values would be from 0-100% measuring the application of the throttle pedal
Activation Threshold (ECT)
This table controls the minimum Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) required when attempting to activate the COBB Transbrake feature.
Units
Acceptable values will be temperature in whichever unit scheme you are currently set to (Celsius or Fahrenheit)
Activation Threshold (TOT)
This table controls the minimum Transmission Oil Temperature (TOT) required when attempting to activate the COBB Transbrake Feature
Units
Acceptable values will be temperature in whichever unit scheme you are currently set to (Celsius or Fahrenheit)
Delay Amount (Bump Box)
This feature creates an amount of time where the transbrake system is disabled allowing the car to roll forward under power. Typically a value near to 15 or so is good for street tires. For cars with stickier tires a higher value may be needed in order to bump the car adequately, while a value too high could just cause the car to launch despite the brake application.
Note: This feature can be toggled in real-time through either the Accesstuner software or through the Tuning menu on the Accessport itself.
Units:
Units for this table are multiples of 10ms increments. So a value of 1 would make the delay 10ms, while a value of 2 would be 20ms and so on.
Enable Switch (Max Pressure)
This toggle allows you to force the transmission to use the maximum clutch pressure when using the COBB Transbrake feature. If not enabled the transmission will use the regular temperature based tables to determine optimal pressure.
Note: This feature may not be needed until on a much higher power level in order to force maximum clutch pressure. Under normal conditions clutch pressures are similar if not already at the maximum.Units:
Units for this table are a 0 (this feature is disabled) or 1 (in order to enable this feature).
Master Switch (Transbrake)
This table is used to activate or deactivate the COBB Transbrake feature.
Note: This feature can be toggled in real-time through either the Accesstuner software or through the Tuning menu on the Accessport itself.
Units:
Acceptable values for this table would be 0 (for off) and 1 (for on)
Safeties (Transbrake)
The safety system will only be active if the "Activation Limit (Time)" has been reached, or if the safety temperature thresholds "Activation Limit (ECT)" or "Activation Limit (TOT)" are breached while the transbrake feature is in use. The safety feature does NOT de-activate the transbrake, as this would cause a vehicle to launch inadvertently. The safety is designed to relieve load from the engine and transmission temporarily to help manage heat, and allow for a safe disengagement of the Transbrake if needed.
Activation Limit (ECT)
This table establishes the temperature safety limit for the engine coolant temperature(ECT). If ECT goes over this value the safety system will prevent engagement of the COBB Transbrake system. If Transbrake mode has already been engaged the Rev Limiter (Safety) will engage, reducing engine RPM so you can safely exit the Transbrake system without launching.
Units:
Acceptable values will be temperature in whichever unit scheme you are currently set to (Celsius or Fahrenheit)
Activation Limit (TOT)
This table establishes the temperature safety limit for the Transmission Oil Temperature(TOT). If TOT goes over this value the safety system will prevent engagement of the COBB Transbrake system.
Activation Limit (Time)
This table establishes the amount of time the COBB Transbrake system can be engaged for before automatically exiting that mode. If the limit is reached the Rev Limiter (Safety) will engage, reducing engine RPM so you can safely exit the Transbrake system without launching.
Units:
Units in this table are time in seconds.
Activation Threshold (APP) (Safety)
This table is the minimum accelerator pedal position required to activate the 2-step RPM limit and begin the safety timer count established in the Activation Limit (Time) table.
Note:If this limit is lower than the main Transbrake Activation Threshold (APP) that value will be used instead.
Units:
Acceptable values would be from 0-100% measuring the application of the throttle pedal
Cooldown Limit (Time)
This table establishes the amount of time required to cooldown before the safety system will reset itself. Once the time limit has been reached, the safety system will be disabled and can be used again, unless some of the conditions required for proper operation have not been met.
Units:
The Units used in this table will be time, in seconds.
Rev Limit (Safety)
This is the RPM value the limit goes to upon the activation of the safety system. Since the transbrake cannot be abruptly disengaged as it will cause the vehicle to launch, it will step down to the RPM limit specified in this table to allow you to safely exit the car from Transbrake mode.Units:
This table should include an RPM value. If set too high the car will still launch and could cause damage or overheating. If it's too low the car will bog and could stall.
2-Step (Transbrake)
Activation Threshold (APP)
This table is the minimum Accelerator Pedal Position for the 2-step limiter to activate when using the COBB Transbrake system.
Units:
This table uses accelerator pedal position in % from 1-100
Enable Switch
In this table you are either enabling or disabling the 2-step RPM limiter function for the COBB Transbrake.
Units:
Acceptable values for this table would be 0 (for off) and 1 (for on)
Rev Limiter (2-Step)
This sets the RPM limit for the 2-step limiter. Using the limiter helps to build boost and can prevent the torque converter from going beyond the intended stall speed.
Units:
Units on this table are in RPM
