Stock Fender Shroud Removal

  1. On each side there are two trim clips holding the fender shrouds in place at the front and in the middle. Remove the clips by pulling out on the center using a trim tool or screwdriver.

  2. With those removed the liners should pull out, go slow as they are somewhat wedge behind the lift strut, you can bend the liner a little bit to get it around that and the hood hinge to make removal easier.

Installation

  1. At the front hole where you removed the first trim clip. We’re going to install one of the standoffs with a washer on the top and bottom of the vehicle’s sheet metal, and one of the locking nuts on the bottom. I found it easier to hold the washer and nut on the bottom and insert the standoff from the top to get things started.

  2. Once that’s on tighten it down using a 13mm on the top and bottom.

  3. At the other point in the middle where there was previously a clip, push in one of the plastic rivet/well nuts from the outside.

  4. Repeat this installation at the back right under the hinge.

  5. We found that the bracket for the lift supports seem to bend easily and/or people slam the hood too hard and they get out of place. To offset this we included a few washers to use as a spacer. At this point you can install the shroud and carefully close the hood (we recommend doing one side at a time and even covering the center of the shroud with blue painters tape) to make sure it clears. If it doesn’t follow the following instructions to space things out.

  6. Using a small flat-blade screwdriver pull out on the metal clip for the lift support while pushing outwards. I recommend using your shoulder or head to brace the hood so it doesn’t fall while doing this.

  7. Once the hood support is free you can carefully wedge it against the strut tower to hold some of the weight of the hood, however don’t count on it being perfectly supported as you don’t want it to slam closed and cause damage to your car or yourself.

  8. Using a 12mm deep socket or wrench, remove the ball mount from the bracket and add some of the supplied stainless washers, usually one or two do the trick to get it out of the way of your fender shrouds, three is about the maximum where you start to run out of threads after that.

  9. With the washer slipped on, tighten the ball back down, reinstall the lift support (making sure the metal clip is back in place.)

  10. You can now slide the shrouds into place. Loosely bolt the front in using the short m6 button head allen bolt with one of the larger plastic COBB washers.

  11. Install the thinner m4 allen bolts into the other two holes (and the plastic well nuts) with the smaller COBB washers. Make sure to gently push down on the bolt while threading it in to make sure the nut doesn’t pop out of the hole.

  12. Once all three bolts are in you can go ahead and tighten them up! The front will get quite tight, however since the middle and rear bolt are in a plastic nut they will still spin a little bit, but they don’t need to be super tight to hold on.

  13. You’re all done! Go out and enjoy!
