Flat Foot Shift: Overview

The Flat Foot Shift system in the VW platform can be broken down into 2 basic functions and a master switch, the first function input checks, and the second controls the system.

Flat Foot Shift: Entry Conditions

These tables control the entry conditions for Flat Foot Shift.

The Master Switch(FFS) this table will need to be set to 1 (Enabled) in order to use the Flat Foot Shift feature.

The Accelerator Pedal Position Min. the accelerator pedal position must be above this value to activate Flat Foot Shift.

The Wheel Speed Min. the undriven wheel speed must be above this value to enter Flat Foot Shift.

Flat Foot Shift: Control

Once active the system will control the Engine Rev Limit.

The Rev Limit table will control the overall vehicle Rev Limit when in Flat Foot Shift is active*. The Rev Limit is looked up on a per gear basis, the input to this table is the Gear Current monitor. This parameter uses the FFS Rev Limit monitor.

The Rev Limit is a Realtime table that can be used to override the "per gear" lookup.

For MK7 GTI and Golf R Only:

During FFS on these vehicles it is necessary to specifically target a specific Torque Target and Throttle Target while FFS State is Active. These values are configurable and should most likely be changed on highly modified cars which significantly different load requirements.
