  3. Remove the chassis brace on each side of the car. There is an inner 15mm bolt and an outer 18mm bolt on each brace.

  4. Remove the OEM cold side piping by loosening the clamp at the intercooler and the other clamp at the throttle body.

  5. Remove the OEM hot side piping by loosening the clamp at the intercooler and the other clamp at the turbo.

  6. Remove the stud on the front of the transmission. It is required for fitment of the new hard pipes. The stud can be removed with a 13mm socket.
    1. (Optional) Remove the stud on the rear of the transmission. The stud can be removed with a 13mm socket.

Hard Pipe Kit Installation

  1. Insert the rubber grommet and then aluminum bushing on the hot side hard pipe.

  2. Install the turbo side silicone on the turbo with the 32 clamp, tighten just enough that it holds the silicone in place,

  3. Install the hot side intercooler silicone on the intercooler.

  4. Insert the hot side hard pipe into the turbo side silicone, and then insert the hot pipe into the hot side intercooler silicone.
    1. TIP: A spritz of silicone lube or soapy water can help ease installation. DO NOT USE any oil substance or WD-40 as it does not evaporate or dry up.

  5. The hot side hard pipe will use a 40 clamp on the turbo side and a 44 clamp on the intercooler side.

  6. Verify that the position of the pipe does not impact the oil pan.

  7. Insert and tighten the M6x25 flanged hex bolt to 12 FT/LB to the transmission stud location. Use a 10mm socket to tighten the stud bolt.

  8. Tighten all (4) clamps on the hot side hard pipe.

  9. Install the silicone coupler on the throttle body side of the cold pipe with a 44 clamp. Tighten the clamp just enough that it holds the silicone in place.

  10. Install the 90 degree elbow silicone coupler on the cold side of the intercooler core using a 44 clamp. Tighten the clamp just enough that it holds the silicone in place.

  11. Insert the cold side hard pipe + silicone coupler on the throttle body and then insert the hard pipe into the intercooler core 90 degree elbow silicone coupler. It's a tight fit, so be patient.
    1. TIP: A spritz of silicone lube or soapy water can help ease installation. DO NOT USE any oil substance or WD-40 as it does not evaporate or dry up.

  12. Once the cold side hard pipe is inserted and in an appropriate position, tighten all the clamps making sure to clock them away from the AC compressor to avoid scuffing or damage.
    1. TIP: It may be easier to tighten the throttle body silicone clamp from the top of the engine bay.

  13. Proceed to work your way backwards to reinstall the front and middle under-tray.

Congrats on the installation of your new COBB Hard Pipe Kit!
