How To: Cobb Custom Features: Launch Control on Ford Vehicles
Applicable Model/Year:
- Mustang (Manual Transmission Only) 2015-2019
- Focus ST (Manual Transmission Only) 2013-2018
- Fiesta ST (Manual Transmission Only) 2014-2019
- Focus RS 2017-2018
How To Enable:
This feature comes pre-enabled on all applicable models. If you are finding this doesn't work correctly ensure you are on the most recent firmware and map updates.
Steps to Use:
Mustang and Focus ST, RS
- Bring the vehicle to a complete stop
- Fully depress the clutch pedal.
- Put the transmission in 1st gear
- Press the accelerator pedal to the floor quickly, the vehicle will now hold at the specified fuel cut level. (Base RPM Setting: Focus 2500rpm, Mustang )
- (Optional for harder launch from higher RPM) Press and hold the "SET - " button on the cruise control. This will raise the RPM to the higher throttle cut level.(Base RPM setting: Focus 4000 rpm, Mustang )
- Release the clutch, and after you start moving release "SET - " cruise control button.
Fiesta ST
- Bring vehicle to a complete stop.
- Fully depress the clutch pedal.
- (Optional for harder launch from higher RPM) Press and hold the Cruise Control "SET - " button.
- Press the accelerator pedal to the floor quickly, vehicle will hold at 4000 rpm.
- Release the clutch, and after you start moving release "SET - " cruise control button.
Available Adjustments,When And Why To Adjust :
Shifting RPM Limit
- Go to "Tune" Menu
- Select "Adjustments
- Select "Change LC Limit" either Hard Cut (Which is a fuel cut and must be lower than soft cut) or Soft Cut (Which is a throttle cut, and must be higher than Hard cut)
- Adjust to whatever RPM desired and then click the center button to save those changes.
Things To Look Out For:
The System will not work when cruise control is turned on (even if not activated).
