  • COBB OEM+ -  Requires stock PDK, stock clutches, and v200 or higher ECU maps.

**All COBB Aggressive, COBB High Torque Aggressive, COBB Sequential Style, or COBB OEM+ maps require the update to v200 or greater COBB OTS ECU maps.  Please contact your preferred COBB Authorized Porsche ProTuner for a COBB PDK compatibility update if you currently have a ProTune based on a deprecated ECU map.**

Porsche 991 Turbo PDK

  • Increased Minimum Shift Points
    • This feature increases the lowest RPM at which the PDK will shift to the next gear in Normal and Sport drive modes.

Normal Mode:

Sport Mode:

  • Increased Auto Shift Points
    • This feature increases the highest RPM at which the PDK will shift to the next gear in Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus drive modes.
      • 991 Turbo
        • COBB Sport increases the auto shift limit to Turbo S factory shift RPM.
        • COBB Aggressive and COBB High Torque Aggressive maps increase the auto shift limit to a maximum of 7400RPM.
      • 991 Turbo S
        • COBB Sport does not increase the auto shift limit on the Turbo S.
        • COBB Aggressive and COBB High Torque Aggressive maps increase the auto shift limit to a maximum of 7400RPM.

  • Race Start Lite:
    • This adds Race Start to Porsche Normal and Sport drive modes for all cars (including vehicles that do not have Sport Chrono).  In COBB Sport, COBB Aggressive, and COBB High Torque Aggressive maps Race Start Lite is set at 4500RPM in Normal and Sport drive modes.  Race Start in Sport Plus remains at the factory 5500RPM.
  • Increased Shift Firmness
    • COBB Sport, COBB Aggressive, and COBB High Torque Aggressive maps raise the shift firmness to help reduce clutch slip.
  • Increased Clutch Pressure
    • COBB High Torque Aggressive maps raise the maximum clutch pressures to help reduce clutch slip after shifting.  The COBB High Torque Aggressive map is typically used on vehicles that have an increased engine torque output of 50% or more over stock.  If the COBB High Torque Aggressive map is flashed to the TCU a PDK Relearn must be completed when changing maps back to COBB Sport, COBB Aggressive, Simulated Stock, or when uninstalling. Failure to do so may result in less than desirable shifting and/or TCU errors.  PDK Relearn instructions are located below.
  • Minimized Continuous Clutch Slip
    • COBB Sport, COBB Aggressive, and COBB High Torque Aggressive maps decrease the RPM at which the clutch is engaged in continuous slip, generally between 1000-2500RPM.
  • Decreased Shift Time
    • COBB Aggressive, COBB High Torque Aggressive, and COBB Sequential Style maps decrease upshift and downshift time
  • Reversed Shift Stalk
    • COBB Sequential Style maps reverse the shift stalk in manual mode.  This enables you to pull back on the stalk for an upshift and push forward for a downshift for a more traditional motorsport feel.
  • Idle Creep Disabled
    • COBB Sequential Style maps disable the creep when releasing the brake from a standstill or low vehicle speeds.  The car will only move with user input to the accelerator pedal.
      • Caution:  This will allow a vehicle in Drive to roll backwards on a hill if the foot or parking brake is released as the clutches are not engaged until the gas pedal is used.
  • Dual Paddle Neutral
    • COBB Sequential Style maps enable the car to instantly go into neutral when both upshift and downshift paddles are held on the steering wheel.
      • This feature will only work with paddle shifted steering wheels.  Steering wheels with the embedded shifting buttons will not work.  An upgraded/retrofitted paddle shifted steering wheel will need to be properly coded at the dealer to utilize the feature.
  • Kickdown Disable
    • COBB Sequential Style maps disable the kickdown in manual mode.  The transmission will no longer downshift when hitting the kickdown in manual mode.
  • Summary
    • COBB Sport:  Increased minimum shift points, Race Start Lite enabled, shift firmness increased, and continuous slip decreased.
    • COBB Aggressive:  All COBB Sport features plus increased maximum shift points and decreased shift time.
    • COBB High Torque Aggressive: All COBB Sport features plus further increased clutch pressures and increased maximum shift points.

If changing from a High Torque map to any other map or uninstalling you MUST perform a PDK relearn after flashing the map.

    • COBB Sequential Style: All COBB Aggressive and COBB Sport features plus Reversed Shift Stalk, Idle Creep Disabled, Dual Paddle Neutral, and Kickdown Disable.
    • COBB OEM+: Includes COBB Sequential Style Map features but with OEM shift points in Normal, Sport, & Sport Plus modes.

PDK Relearn

  • A step-by-step guide on how to perform this procedure with the Accessport can be found here: How To: Perform PDK Clutch Re-Learn
  • If the COBB High Torque Aggressive map is flashed to the TCU a PDK Relearn must be completed when changing maps back to COBB Sport, COBB Aggressive, Simulated Stock, or when uninstalling. Failure to do so may result in less than desirable shifting and/or TCU errors.
  • Over time clutches can wear and the thickness can decrease.  Performing a PDK relearn will help the PDK verify clutch thickness and position.  This is particularly useful after a clutch replacement or in cars with higher mileage.

PDK Update Using Factory PIWIS II Tool

  • This document link below can be supplied to your Porsche dealership if you don't have an open campaign for the Q033 → Q061 update and/or the PIWIS doesn't start the update automatically.  This can walk the tech through how to manually update.
  • How To: Perform a Forced PDK Update via Porsche PIWIS II

Simulated Stock

  • Stock calibration. For use when stock like behavior is desired. Does not uninstall Accessport.

*Notes: COBB Aggressive, COBB High Torque Aggressive, COBB Sequential Style, and COBB OEM+ PDK maps must be used with v200 or higher ECU maps.

Closing Warnings and Precautions:

  • Use of inappropriate calibration/modification combinations may promote transmission damage.
  • If the COBB High Torque map is flashed to the TCU a A PDK relearn may be required when switching from the High Torque map to other COBB maps or uninstalling.  PDK Relearn instructions are located above.
  • Some higher mileage PDK cars may have driveability problems that may be exacerbated by flashing the PDK, most notably a shudder when starting from a stop at low throttle in 1st gear or reverse.  In most cases a simple PDK fluid service is all that is needed to remedy the issue, however the issue may be more indicative of a failing valve body.  A PDK Relearn will unfortunately not fix this issue.  We suggest doing a PDK fluid service before installing the PDK flash if you are still running original fluid regardless of milage.

Revision Notes:

V202 - Introduced COBB Sequential Style and COBB OEM+ maps which add decreased shift time, reverse shift stalk, idle creep disable, dual paddle neutral, and kickdown removal along with other v201 features.  Decreased shift time in COBB Aggressive maps.

V201 - Initial Release Calibration.  Maximum and minimum upshift and downshift points adjusted, clutch pressures adjusted, firmness adjusted, continuous slip decreased, Race Start Lite enabled.
